Imbuia Wood is a wood from Brazil, commonly called Imbuia / Brazilian walnut because the wood resembles that of some walnuts, it is used for high-end furniture. The wood is a threatened species and very hard measuring 3,684 lbf (Janka scale). It is fragrant with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon.  
 
A ball and claw foot on antique furniture is a term used to describe decorative feet, carved in the design of a claw holding onto a ball. The claw design is from a bird or eagle claw and this can be seen on many antique chairs and antique tables.
